London Evening Standard reporter Simon Johnson has confirmed claims that Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.
Rugani has been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks. The Italian has struggled to nail down a starting role in Juventus’ back-line, which is packed full of quality.
He could be forced to depart Turin in search of regular first-team football, and a reunion former boss Maurizio Sarri, who he worked under at Empoli, could be on the cards.
The London Evening Standard report that Chelsea have made a £35M offer for Rugani. We’re thought to be hopeful of completing the deal this summer.
The report claims that Chelsea will offer Rugani a five-year contract. If he put pen-to-paper on a move to Stamford Bridge, he would earn around £60K-a-week.
We may not be in any dire need of a new centre-back, but if Sarri wants Rugani, we should provide him with Rugani.
