There is just one thing standing in the way of Maurizio Sarri becoming Chelsea manager. He’s 5’10, has deep blue eyes and speaks with an Italian accent.
In case you hadn’t already guessed, it is indeed Antonio Conte.
According to the Express, Chelsea are still negotiating with Conte and his entourage over his pay-off. He still has one-year remaining on his contract with the club. He’s entitled to have that paid in full.
The report claims that the fee Conte is looking to receive is around £9M. However, the club are thought to be looking to let him go for less than that, citing the way he dealt with the Diego Costa situation as their reasoning.
With just six-weeks left to go in the summer transfer window, it’s time we give-in to Conte’s demands and get Sarri through the door as soon as possible. We can’t afford to have another summer like last year.
