Chelsea have made their move to sign Brazilian youngster Richarlison, according to the Daily Mail.
As per the Daily Mail, Richarlison was close to joining Eredivisie giants Ajax in a £12M deal, but Chelsea have made their move to steal the 20-year-old from under their nose.
Richarlison found the back of the net 11 times in all competitions for Fluminense last term. As you may recall, Chelsea drafted in Kenedy from the same side in 2015, and it looks as though we could be set to go shopping there once more.
The Daily Mail report that Chelsea are attempting to convince Richarlison to move to Stamford Bridge, with Antonio Conte thought to be keen to sign him this summer.
There may well be some truth to the report, too. The Daily Mail quote Richarlison’s agent Renato Velasco, who confirms that there has been interest from Premier League sides:
“The truth is that he is ready to play for any club, big or small and there is a lot of speculation around him. He is talking about Italy, but also England and Holland.”
If Richarlison does arrive, he likely will not be joining to make an immediate impact in the first-team squad. As many before him have, he may well join and be immediately loaned out.
