Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean Seri, according to journalist Ed Aarons.
Seri made a name for himself during his time in Portugal, earning himself a move to Ligue 1 outfit Nice. He has continued to showcase his ability in the middle of the park in France, and his performances did not go unnoticed.
Ed Aarons claimed on Twitter that the Ivorian was on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player during the summer transfer window, but the move never materialised. The Catalan giants recruited former Tottenham man Paulinho instead, which has proven to be a shrewd acquisition.
Barcelona no longer appear to be in the running to land Seri, at least they are not listed by Ed Aarons as potential suitors. His tweet claims that Chelsea will face competition from both Manchester City and Everton in the race to secure his signature.
Ed Aarons believes that Seri is now available for a fee in the region of £25M, which could provide Antonio Conte with an affordable option to add for his midfield, should he look to do so this winter.
