Chelsea are in the running to land Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, report Sport (via The Metro).
Very few of the Chelsea faithful would like to admit it, but we do rely heavily on the ingenuity of Eden Hazard. Our little Belgian genius has dragged us through tough situations time and time again since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2012. But as shown this term, he can’t do it all on his own.
Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata have helped him carry the goal-scoring burden in recent years, but there has not been much assistance provided from elsewhere.
If there is an area of our team which we have struggled to recruit shrewdly, it’s on the right-hand-side of our attack. Andre Schurrle, Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah have all failed to nail down a starting spot in that position, with Willian and Pedro also struggling for consistency.
Chelsea need a right-winger that compliments the abilities of Hazard, and if Sport are to be believed, we may well have identified one.
The Spanish outlet claim, as reported by the Metro, that Chelsea are set to enter a bidding war with Manchester United to sign Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. The report claims that Los Blancos value him in the region of £80M, which seems steep considering his struggles with fitness, but if he were to stay healthy, he could be worth every penny.
