Chelsea are one of several top Premier League teams interested in signing Crystal Palace sensation Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to the Daily Star.
Wan-Bissaka has been a revelation under Roy Hodgson. At 21-years-old, he has shown maturity beyond his years on the right-hand-side of the Palace back-line, which looks to have drawn a great deal of attention to him.
The Daily Star believe that Chelsea, along with Manchester United and Manchester City, have placed Wan-Bissaka on their wish-list. The report claims that Palace will hold out for as much as £40M in exchange for him.
Though Wan-Bissaka is undoubtedly talented, we would save ourselves £40M if we placed faith in academy product Reece James, who has been thriving during his first season as a professional at Wigan Athletic.
If Davide Zappacosta does depart, we ought to explore the possibility of bringing James back to be part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad, rather than spending a great deal of money on a new right-back unnecessarily.
