With the arrival of Tiemoué Bakayoko from Monaco, Nemanja Matic looks set to leave Chelsea this summer and it appears that the Serbian midfielder has wasted no time in deciding where he wants to play next season.
According to the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Matic is keen on a move to Juventus and has already ‘said yes’ to Massimiliano Allegri’s offer of playing for the Turin-based-team.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Chelsea have set an initial asking price of £40 million for the midfield enforcer. However, the Italian champions are unwilling to meet the London club’s demands.
As a result, Corierre dello Sport claim that Matic has asked the Chelsea hierarchy to lower their valuation of him, so he can secure a move to Italy.
As reported by the BBC, Matic has been left out of Chelsea’s pre-season squad who leave for their tour of Asia tomorrow which will allow the player to negotiate a move away from Stamford Bridge.
As per Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan had also been in the running to sign Matic from Chelsea. But, the Milan club have been priced out of a deal, with Juventus ready to use some of the money they received from the Leonardo Bonucci deal to buy Matic.
