Chelsea do not appear to be willing to accept defeat in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
According to Calciomercato, the Blues are preparing to offer £60M in exchange for the Brazil international, a transfer fee that is expected to be enough to convince the Serie A heavyweights to part with him.
The BBC reported at the time of the transfer that Fernando Torres costed Chelsea £50M, and that still stands as the most expensive signing in our history. If Calciomercato are to be believed, Sandro’s arrival would break that record.
Calciomercato report that Chelsea are willing to increase Sandro’s wages considerably, which is thought to have turned his head. The Italian outlet believe that he also wants a new challenge, and helping Antonio Conte defend his Premier League title will certainly be one.
As per Calciomercato, Juventus will offer Sandro a contract extension with improved terms in a last-ditch attempt to keep him out of Conte’s grasp. However, what Juventus are believed to be offering is considerably less than Chelsea.
Calciomercato go on to report that it is looking more and more difficult for Juventus to keep hold of Sandro. He may well be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
