Chelsea are preparing a second bid for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the Telegraph.
As per the Telegraph, Chelsea have already seen a £15M bid turned down for the England international, but are expected to raise their offer to £25M in hope of securing a deal.
The Telegraph claim that despite the fact he is likely to spend plenty of time among the substitutes, with Tiemoue Bakayoko and N’Golo Kante set to occupy the starting spots in Antonio Conte’s midfield, Drinkwater is attracted by the possibility of joining the Blues this summer.
It is reported by the Telegraph that if Drinkwater does arrive, Chelsea may still bid for both Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as the Premier League champions look to fulfil their home-grown quota.
The Telegraph note that Chelsea are also considering a bid for Southampton centre-back Virgil Van Dijk, who has asked to leave the Saints this summer.
