The Alex Sandro transfer saga is finally over. The Brazilian has decided not to join Chelsea according to Juventus CEO, Guiseppe Marotta. Speaking to Sky Italia (via Sky Sports) he said, “Alex Sandro said he wants to stay at Juventus and this is a real big deal. So we automatically rejected the sender’s request.”
Chelsea made a stunning €80M for the left back as per reports by Calciomercato but it was rejected after the player decided not to leave Turin. Chelsea would likely have been prepared to offer Sandro mega-money, it must have been hard for him to turn it down, but one thing is now clear – it’s time for Chelsea to move on.
Antonio Conte was keen on signing him and was expecting him to hand in a transfer request to force a move to Stamford Bridge according to the report in Calciomercato. However, things have not gone as planned and it’s left Chelsea hanging.
Time for the Blues’ to search for alternatives and they have a total of 12 days to hunt, approach, deal and sign the player.
