Chelsea striker has ’50-50 chance’ of signing for Bundesliga side this summer

Chelsea centre-forward Alvaro Morata could be off to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Dortmund lost talismanic striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi proved to be a superb stop-gap for the Bundesliga giants for the final months of the season, but that loan has now expired and he has returned to Stamford Bridge (at least for now).

That leaves Dortmund in dire need of a player who is capable of carrying the goal-scoring burden at the Westfalenstadion. Bizarrely, Morata’s name has been brought into the equation.

According to German publication Bild, Morata has a 50-50 chance of becoming a Dortmund player this summer, despite there being no previous reports linking him with a move to the Bundesliga side.

It is unclear whether he would join initially on-loan, like Batshuayi, or Dortmund would reinvest the money they received in exchange for Aubameyang in the 25-year-old. Let’s wait and see.
