He’s a rumour that we didn’t expect to be reporting on – Alvaro Morata to West Ham.
This isn’t an April Fools joke, we’re in September, this is a genuine report which has been published by Italian publication Tuttosport.
Morata has hardly set the world alight since his then club-record move to Chelsea, but surely he’s a level above the Hammers? Perhaps not…
Tuttosport believe that talks are already underway to send Morata on loan to the London Stadium to battle relegation to the Championship with West Ham.
It’s hard to believe Morata would be interested in the move, having only ever played for Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea in his professional career.
From Chelsea’s perspective, if we’re looking to recruit a new striker in the January window, why not make this move happen and let Morata get regular Premier League playing time?
It’s incredibly unlikely that this one will materialise, but stranger things have happened!
Swap him for Arnautovic or Yarmalenko
