Alexis Sanchez has asked to leave the Chile squad after telling his international teammates that he had “other commitments” to deal with ahead of the close of the transfer window, reports The Sun.
The 29-year-old Arsenal forward is currently on international duty with Chile. However, the player has asked to leave the Chile camp as he looks to complete a move away from the Emirates this summer, as per The Sun.
The Sun report that Sanchez is the subject of a player plus cash bid from Manchester City, who will offer Raheem Sterling as makeweight in the deal. Although, it is understood that City would prefer a straight cash deal.
However, with the Express reporting that Antonio Conte remains keen on signing the Chile international, it is yet to be seen as to where the forward will end up come the close of the window.
Chelsea already have an array of attacking talent in their squad with Willian, Hazard, and Pedro all able to play in central attacking roles. Yet, ahead of the Blues’ title defence, there would be no harm in adding an extra attacker to the squad for some extra fire power.
