Chelsea linked with cut-price move for striker, West Ham and Tottenham also keen

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing West Brom centre-forward Salomon Rondon.

Following the shortfalls of club-record signing Alvaro Morata, you’d think that we’d be hunting for a higher calibre striker this time around. However, that does not appear to be the case.

According to the Mirror, Rondon has emerged as a potential transfer target for the Blues. He fits the target-man mould that Antonio Conte was in the market for back in January, but it seems unlikely that the Italian will be in charge come the start of next season.

Rondon does, though, have an extremely affordable buy-out clause. He’s available this summer for ‘just’ £16M. West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to have been alerted to the situation.

With West Brom going down, Rondon is almost certain to leave the Hawthorns in the coming months. Will we be seeing him in a Chelsea shirt come the start of the 2018/19 campaign? We’ll have to wait and see…
