Wilfried Zaha has been discussing his Crystal Palace future after reports linking him with a move to Chelsea.

Speculation of Chelsea’s interest flared up at the tail end of the summer transfer window. There were even claims that we submitted a hefty bid for the Ivorian, which included Danny Drinkwater and cash.

A Crystal Palace player Zaha remains, though. He scored for the Eagles in their season opener against our local rivals Fulham. If he is hoping for a move to Chelsea, scoring against them isn’t a bad way to go about it.

He doesn’t look to be in any rush to leave Selhurt Park, however. In fact, he has now publicly shown willingness to extend his future with Roy Hodgson’s side. He’s quoted by Goal saying:

“All that stuff was not going to affect me or how the team were playing. Whatever happens, happens.”

“But I’m all Palace – and you can see on the pitch that all I think about is the team doing well.”

“We are still speaking about [a new contract], still negotiating, whatever. Just going to see if we can come to an agreement.”

Chelsea will soon need to find a replacement for Willian and/or Pedro. Both players are now in their thirties. Regardless of whether or not he signs a new contract, we imagine signing Zaha will be an option explored by the club.
