Chelsea are reportedly keen to shift Michy Batshuayi to Crystal Palace – and have already named their price for the Belgian centre-forward!
Batshuayi signed for Crystal Palace on-loan on transfer deadline day. He faced an anxious wait to discover whether he would have his loan with Valencia terminated, but thankfully for all parties involved, terms were agreed with Palace and he cut ties with the Spaniards.
He will now be licking his lips at the prospect of spending five-months playing regular Premier League football. It’s an invaluable opportunity to show Maurizio Sarri and Marina Granovskaia that he’s a valuable asset and worth keeping around at Stamford Bridge.
Michy may well have his work cut-out, though, with The Sun reporting that Chelsea have already decided they want to sell him. It’s claimed that the club will attempt to encourage Palace to make the loan deal permanently, with a £40M asking price being set.
It would be a shame to see Batshuayi’s Chelsea career end before it had ever really began, but neither manager who has held the reins since he signed has rated him. If we invested that £40M into a Mauro Icardi or a Robert Lewandowski, there would be no complaints.
