DEADLINE DAY: Chelsea winger Willian could be subject of a bid from Paris Saint-Germain by the end of today, according to information published by Sky Sports.
Willian has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the summer. Both Barcelona and Manchester United were thought to have held an interest in the Brazilian, but his intention, and the intention of the club, was always for him to remain at Stamford Bridge.
The resolve of both parties is set to be tested once again, with Sky Sports reporting that PSG are set to make an ambitious deadline day move to sign Willian. The 30-year-old is entering the final 18-months of his contract with Chelsea. His resale value will never be higher than it is now.
Despite that, Sky Sports believe that the club have no interest in allowing him to leave this month, much like Callum Hudson-Odoi. Christian Pulisic will not arrive until the summer, thus it would make no sense to leave ourselves short for the final months of the 2018/19 campaign.
PSG are welcome to try again in the summer. Willian will have just a year left to run and Chelsea will have more time and resources to identify and recruit an adequate replacement for him. For now, though, Willian is going nowhere. He’ll stay a Blue beyond today.
