DEADLINE DAY: Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Tottenham held talks with Chelsea over the possible acquisition of Michy Batshuayi.
Today is a big day for Michy Batshuayi. Having failed to deliver during his time at Valencia, he needs a successful spell away from Stamford Bridge in order to convince Maurizio Sarri that he is capable of leading the line for us next season.
He did it at Marseille, he had his periods of success at Chelsea, before scoring bags of goals in a short amount of time at Borussia Dortmund. He needs a flurry like that to restore the faith of the fans, the manager, and perhaps most importantly, himself.
What he doesn’t need is to play for f*cking Tottenham Hotspur. They’ve apparently made a cheeky attempt to nick him off us today – it reeks of desperation. A club who haven’t signed a player for an entire calendar year are hoping we’ll do them a favour.
This information comes from Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, who believes that Tottenham thought we’d be willing to set aside local and competitive rivalry in order to let them have Batshuayi. We weren’t having any of it. Quotes via the Express.
“Now, a big, big development as well in the last few minutes because we have been told that talks have also been held with Spurs about Michy Batshuayi moving on loan to Spurs. But we are being told that is not going to happen.”
