Forgotten Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman is set to sign for Turkish outfit Goztepe for the remainder of the 2018/19 season, according to TRT Spor.
Baba ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in January 2017, and even having made a full recovery, he has struggled to push forward with his career since.
The Ghanaian, now 24-years-old, terminated his 18-month-long loan deal with Bundesliga side Schalke earlier this month, leaving him essentially clubless.
TRT Spor believe that Goztepe have now swooped in and struck a deal to sign Baba. He’ll go on-loan there for the final six-months of the season.
This essentially confirms that Baba has been lost in the Chelsea loan cycle and is no longer seen by the club as a player who could be part of our squad in the future.
We will take any loan fee we can get from interested parties and eventually cash-in when the time comes. It’s a shame.
