Gary Cahill looks set to leave Chelsea in January – and he could be set to move to one of our closest rivals.
Cahill is one of the most influential figures in our recent history. What he has achieved at this club will live on in the form of his legacy, but few can deny at this point that his best years are behind him.
The former England international is entering the swansong of his career. You’d think that a move to the MLS, or even a lower-table Premier League side, could be on the cards.
The Express, however, claim that Manchester United are interested in signing him. Jose Mourinho’s squad could certainly do with Cahill’s experience. He’s a player that Mourinho has worked with previously, he knows his strengths and weaknesses.
We’d hate to see Cahill in a United shirt, but if they’re willing to stump up any sort of cash for him prior to the expiration of his contract, it’s a possibility that we have to consider.
