Chelsea’s chances of signing Danny Drinkwater have been given a massive boost this morning as his current club Leicester City prepare to bring in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva, reports the Mirror.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea had a bid of £15 million rejected by the Foxes this week as the London club look to bolster their midfield options after the departures of Nemanja Matic and Nathaniel Chalobah this summer.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports broke the news that Drinkwater had handed in a transfer request in order to push through a move to Stamford Bridge. However, the same source reported that the 2016 Premier League champions were not looking to sell one of their best players.
Yet, with less than 24 hours of the transfer window remaining, Antonio Conte and Chelsea have been given a major boost in their attempts to sign the England international as the Mirror report that Leicester have agreed a deal to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva.
Chelsea are yet to agree a deal for Drinkwater, however it appears that a deal could now happen. Fingers crossed!
