Chelsea are set to face major competition for the signature of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to the Telegraph.
As per the Telegraph, Chelsea have already had a £25M bid rejected for the England international, and Premier League counterparts Tottenham have now stepped up their efforts to sign him before the transfer window closes later today.
Tottenham are not the only side set to go head-to-head for Barkley’s signature, however. The Telegraph report that Arsenal have also joined the race to sign the 23-year-old today.
The Telegraph claim that the Gunners are in the market for replacements for Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere, who could both be heading out of the Emirates on deadline day.
However, it is reported that Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler is their first-choice, which would suggest that Barkley is not a priority for Arsene Wenger.
Chelsea need to act fast to avoid missing out on yet another transfer target.
