Michy Batshuayi’s first goal against Iceland last night was an absolute cracker. Not so much for the finish, rather Eden Hazard’s world-class pass in the build-up.
We’re going to throw chronology out the window and have a look at his second goal, first. Batshuayi showcased his natural instincts by capitalising on a butter-fingers moment from the Icelandic keeper, and calmly finding the back of the net.
Michy scored both the goals in a 2-0 win over Iceland, but his first won’t be making any front pages today. His second might, but it won’t be him who will be the cover star, it’ll be his international teammate Eden Hazard.
Hazard threaded a beautiful pass through to Thomas Meunier, who squared the ball to Batshuayi for his second. Have a look at this, we’re not even sure how Eden was able to see that the pass was on, let alone execute it.
