Chelsea have taken the lead against Malmo in the Europa League round of 32 through Ross Barkley’s first ever goal in European competitions.

Pedro found himself in possession out on the right-hand-side. He played a great ball into the penalty area for Barkley, who had acres of space and was able to control the cross and beat the goalkeeper. The Englishman is now off the mark in the Europa League.

It could prove to be a significant goal for Maurizio Sarri, with the Italian under intense pressure following the 6-0 loss to Manchester City. It’s also an away goal for Chelsea and a big step forward until the quarter-finals of the competition. GET IN!
