Cesar Azpilicueta, take a bow.
The Spaniard may not have been given an opportunity to show what he can do on the world stage this World Cup, but he’s doing his best to impress Fernando Hierro in La Roja training.
It’s crazy to think that Azpilicueta isn’t a sure starter in Spain’s side. If he were English, or any other nationality, he’d be the first-name on the team-sheet.
Unfortunately, Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique’s partnership is impenetrable, with Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal being preferred at right-back.
If Azpilicueta wants to have any hope of breaking into Spain’s side this tournament, he needs to continue to showcase his talent in this manner in training. Have a look at this incredible goal he scored in training.

Azpilicueta is not known for his goal-scoring exploits, but he clearly has it in his locker. If there’s no room for him at the back, Hierro ought to field him alongside Diego Costa through the middle!
