Eden Hazard warmed up for the World Cup campaign with Belgium by finding the back of the net against a Mohamed Salah-less Egypt.
Hazard’s goal-scoring form tailed off towards the end of the previous campaign, but he did score the winning goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup final from the penalty spot.
With Belgium thought to be one of the favourites to win the World Cup, it’s good news that Hazard is rediscovering his best form ahead of the tournament.
His goal against Egypt was expertly taken. The 27-year-old fired home from the middle of the penalty area with his left-foot to double his country’s advantage over the African side.
Let’s hope that we see Hazard replicating this sort of composure and quality in the 12-yard box during his time in Russia.
