Lazio centre-back Stefan de Vrij will sign for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Cittaceleste.
The January transfer window has only just come to a close, but it looks as though the reigning champions of the Premier League are already preparing their plans for the summer.
De Vrij appears to be one player on Antonio Conte’s wish-list. Cittaceleste claim that the Dutchman will join Chelsea in a €30M deal in the summer, despite only recently penning a contract extension with Lazio.
There is a major question mark over the long-term future of David Luiz at Stamford Bridge, especially if Conte continues as manager. Chelsea could soon find themselves in need of a new centre-back, and it loos as though de Vrij has already been lined up as a replacement.
For a reported €30M, de Vrij would be an affordable option to strengthen our defence, which was exposed for the world to see against AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
