The big transfer news for Chelsea so far this summer has not been an arrival, but a departure.
Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid came pretty much out of nowhere last week, and it’s only now that we’re getting the first reactions to it. Captain Reece James is a man who knows Cucurella well, and speaking on England duty
James admits Chelsea rocked by loss of top player

“I spoke with him a few days ago. He’s obviously an amazing player, one of the best left-backs in the world,” James said in quotes picked up by the Daily Mirror.
“This is his football, you know, players move every few months, and I’m devastated to see him go, but I wish him all the best.”
James and many of his teammates will be watching closely to see how the club go about replacing Cucurella in the rest of this window. They want to see ambition, and a player of at least equal quality coming in – they don’t want to feel that this project is continuing to move backwards, as Cucurella himself admitted to fearing.
