Chelsea Ladies suffered a gutting semi-final defeat in the Continental Cup this weekend.
Hosting fierce rivals Manchester City, the away side opened the scoring inside 20 minutes, Nadia Nadim most alert to tap in a low cross after Chelsea were guilty of giving the ball away in the centre of the park.
The Blues created the better chances which included a shot saved from point-blank range in the dying minutes from Millie Bright. But the home side looked well off the pace throughout the game, allowing City to dominate.
Chelsea’s poor form against City continues, with three defeats in the last three meetings. They have a chance for revenge as the sides meet in the league on February 1st.
