A look at Christensen from a Mönchengladbach fan

In 2015, young defender Andreas Christensen was loaned to the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach, since this time he made a great development in Germany.

Henrik from Mönchengladbach fan site Die-Nordkurve tells us how Christensen has got on over the past two years.

The Danish international has been in the starting XI in all competitions for Borussia since day one. His played in 49 Bundesliga games for Borussia and he is an absolute leader for the ‘Fohlenelf.

This season Christensen has played over 1620 minutes for Borussia, scoring one goal and winning 71% of his tackles. 91% of Christensen’s passes have found one of his team mates and by comparison to the other Bundesliga defenders it makes him one of the best in the league.

Christensen also gained some vital Champions League experience playing in nine games over the last two years, at the moment the defender is playing in the Europa League.

With his Danish compatriot Jannik Vestergaard, Christensen is building a strong central defence at Borussia and the Danish national team, both are play really well together.

For Chelsea this loan to Borussia Mönchengladbach was a lucky pull. Christensen is expected to go back to Chelsea this summer, they’ll have a top player with a lot of experience. His value also went up from €1.5m to €16m in the last two years.

If Chelsea choose not to keep Christensen in the summer Borussia will try to sign the player, like they did with the brother of Eden Hazard, Thorgan.

All the fans of Borussia and manager Max Eberl want him to stay at Mönchengladbach, because he would be a big loss for the club and is one of the most talented players in the squad.

The dad of Christensen is sure that Andreas will be back to Chelsea for next season and will play in the starting XI for the blues.

Max Eberl (Manager of Borussia) always said that they are in good contact with Chelsea and there will be a decision this spring on the player.
