After a slow start to the transfer window, Chelsea are getting into gear across the board.
We’ve yet to see a senior addition, outside those arranged before the summer. And so far the only sale is the move of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. But that’s about to change, according to Nizaar Kinsella of the BBC.
George ready to be Chelsea’s second major summer sale

Kinsella reports that Everton are “close to agreeing” a deal with Chelsea for Tyrique George, who spent the second half last season on loan there.
There was a £25m option to buy in that deal, which Everton have declined to use. But it sounds like they will end up paying potentially the same amount – it’s just broken down into an initial payment plus add-ons now.
George has come close to moves before – a £22m transfer to Fulham collapsed at the end of last summer. But this time it looks like it’s really happening. Combined with the £50m we received for Cucurella and the potential fees for Enzo Fernandez, Trevoh Chalobah and others, there should be plenty of money to spend for Xabi Alonso.
In other news…
The compensation agreed between Chelsea and a former coach is very significant. Finally everyone can move forward.
Enzo Maresca and Manchester City are both paying Chelsea compensation after his messy exit in January which the club blame for a bad season.
