Chelsea fans are worried they’re going to have a Garnacho boomerang – but Unai Emery’s words are comforting.

Chelsea loaned out Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa this summer on a deal which could become permanent if certain clauses are met.
So far, no matter how “achievable” the targets are, it’s not looking good. Garnacho has yet to start a game for the Villains. However their manager Unai Emery’s discussion of the winger’s future certainly indicates he thinks he will be arriving permanently.
“We want him at the same level he was for Chelsea in the first part of last season and in Manchester two years ago,” Emery said.
“He is a player we have signed for a long time, and we will help him to feel comfortable and confident to get his quality.”
Garnacho future remains cloudy despite Emery confidence
What worries Chelsea fans is that they want rid of Garnacho permanently, and at this rate he’ll be boomerang-ing right back to them next May.
Harvey Elliot had a similar situation a year ago – loaned to Villa from Liverpool, he ended up never playing and ultimately returning to his parent club.
We know that Garnacho’s option is “appearance based”. We just have to hope he breaks into the team sooner rather than later. So far he’s 0/4 in terms of starts.
