Antonio Conte is close to agreeing a contract extension with Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.

Conte enjoyed a fantastic debut season in West London. The former Juventus boss took charge of a side that was battered and broken, finishing tenth in the Premier League, and just 12 months later – we were crowned champions of England.

Just how impressive Conte’s work has been since his arrival in SW6 cannot be overstated – and it appears as though he is set to be rewarded for his efforts.

As per Sky Sports, Conte’s contract extension will include improved terms, that could see him earn as much as £10M-a-year; that works out at a whopping £190,000-a-week. You can’t say that he doesn’t deserve it.

Sky Sports note that Conte was frustrated with the Chelsea hierarchy over the lack of transfer activity, but it looks as though the situation has now cooled itself and he is ready to commit his future to the Blues.
