Antonio Conte has reportedly clashed with Chelsea once again. This time over the Blues’ pre-season plans.
The uncertainty over our managerial situation threatens to derail our season before it’s even begun. At the time of writing, the players have no idea who will be their manager come the start of the 2018/19 campaign, who will be leading their upcoming pre-season campaign, nor when it is even due to begin.
Conte has had the look of a dead man walking for months now, yet is still officially our manager. Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but he remains in limbo while the club figure out a way to dismiss Conte without breaking the bank.
Meanwhile, the Times report that Conte has sent a rather blunt email to the Chelsea players regarding our pre-season campaigns. It’s claimed that a member of our technical staff told the players to report for training on Saturday and Sunday, while Conte stamped his authority and demanded them not to return until Monday.
This is a complete and utter mess.
