Stamford Bridge At Night

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that talks are underway over his proposed return to Stamford Bridge.

Zola’s time in management has been somewhat or a rollercoaster ride. The previous position he held was at Birmingham City. He resigned after four-months in charge, finishing with an 8% win ratio.

Thankfully, recent reports have not been linking Zola with the manager’s post at Stamford Bridge, rather an assistant managerial role alongside former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri is thought to be set to replace Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager. Zola knows the club like the back of his hand and his potential appointment is an incredibly exciting possibility for all Chelsea fans.

How close the former Blue is to putting pen-to-paper on his return to SW6 is yet unclear, but he has confirmed that he is in talks over the move.

Zola is quoted by the Daily Star saying:

“There are a lot of rumours about me at the moment and nothing has happened. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

“But honestly, at the moment it’s only talking, nothing is decided.”

We’d absolutely love to see Zola in the dugout at the Bridge. Make it happen!

What ?? … Zola was one of our finest creators on the field, but how does 8% success rate for coaching even warrant a consideration ??
