Lionel Messi is arguably the greatest footballer ever to have lived – but he’s not unstoppable.
The Argentine has scored over 600 goals in his professional career, winning 29 pieces of silverware during his time with Barcelona, including eight league titles and four Champions League. Not to mention his five Ballon D’Ors…
He’s superhuman, a sporting legend, and the Premier League champions have the task of nullifying his threat as we lock-horns with Barcelona in the Champions League tonight.
It’s not going to be easy, but club-legend Frank Lampard believes that Antonio Conte already has a player at his disposal capable of snuffing out Messi.
Lampard is quoted by the Metro saying:
“It is a fine line for Chelsea. They need to sit back but at the same time put pressure on him so he doesn’t become relaxed on the ball. This is where I think N’Golo Kante will be key. He is the one in Chelsea’s midfield with the abilities you need because he is so quick into the tackle.”
The PFA, FWA and PL player of the year will have to be at his very best if we want to have any chance of defying the odds and heading to the Nou Camp with a positive first-leg result.
Come on you Blues…
