Here we go again, Chelsea are being linked with former PSG manager Laurent Blanc, with the pressure building on Maurizio Sarri.
Following Antonio Conte’s departure in the summer, Blanc was thought to be an option for Chelsea if they were unable to land number one target Maurizio Sarri. After weeks of feuding with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, the club finally did get their man. Though, following the 6-0 loss to Man City, they may be left wishing they didn’t.
We’re still 100% behind Sarri and have faith that he is the right man to take him forward, but it would come as no surprise if influential figures behind the scenes at the club were growing impatient. This is Chelsea, after all, no manager is safe, which is why we could never entirely rule out the possibility of Maurizio Sarri being handed his P45.
TMW are loving it. They’re churning out report after report, speculating as to who could come in the door in the event of Sarri’s departure. The name they’ve pulled out of the hat today is Blanc, who has been out of work for several years. Don’t buy it, Blues. Sarri’s position is under no immediate threat – and the club would surely aim higher than Blanc.
