Chelsea will be without Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the remainder of the month as the Englishman battles with an ongoing back problem.
Loftus-Cheek’s back injury has been troubling him for some time now. The medical staff declared him fit to feature against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, but he limped off the field towards the end of the first-half in tears.
Chelsea have been hit with continuous injury problems over the past month and the frustration for Maurizio Sarri will not be subsiding anytime soon. Standard Sport believe that Loftus-Cheek, who can cover in midfield or on the wing, is out for the month.
Loftus-Cheek himself has spoken about the need for him to sit in the stands for a period to ensure that this injury is solved once and for all.
“It’s not good. I have been struggling with it for the last few weeks. I’m going to have to take some proper time out to make sure it heals properly. I’m gutted.” – standard Sport
Loftus-Cheek will come back stronger from this, he has to. He can’t allow himself to become another in a long line of promising footballers whose careers were tainted by injuries.
We’re right with you, Ruben. Get well soon!
