Chelsea’s success in the Premier League in the 2016/17 campaign has reaffirmed our position among Europe’s elite.
The BBC report that the Blues, alongside Manchester City, are one of just two English clubs who are ranked in the top ten in the world.
A European club ranking list produced by sports data company Gracenote, as reported by the BBC, have placed Chelsea in seventh place, one ahead of Premier League counterparts Man City. That’s despite not taking part in the Champions League last season.
Ultimately, it means very little, but it’s great to see that after the pain we endured in 2015/16 we are back rubbing shoulders with the biggest and best club sides on the planet.
It is just another compliment to Antonio Conte, and the fantastic work he has done since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. Hopefully this is just the beginning of Chelsea’s meteoric rise back to the summit of football under the Italian’s stewardship.
