Chelsea have received a lot, and I mean a lot, of money for winning the Premier League this season.
Sky Sports report that the champions were awarded a whopping £150.8million for their success throughout the 2016/17 campaign.
Sky Sports note that figure was accumulated by the Blues appearing on domestic and overseas TV, as well as £4.5million worth of central commercial income.
It remains to be seen how much of that will be invested into Antonio Conte’s squad, but if the Chelsea hierarchy have their heads screwed on straight, we can assume it will be a considerable chunk of it.
Roman Abramovich should have learned by the failures of the 2015/16 season, where we rested on our laurels after winning the title and ended up finishing tenth in the table.
Manchester City and Manchester United will likely invest heavily this summer, we need to match them in order to ensure we are not left behind.
