Eden Hazard

Frustration is thought to be building within the Chelsea ranks at our lack of summer transfer business.

Think back to last summer. It was one of the worst summers we have endured under the stewardship of Roman Abramovich. Not necessarily due to a lack of expenditure, but the players that we recruited were, quite frankly, not Chelsea standard.

As a result, we suffered. Once again we failed to qualify for the Champions League in a season where we should have been fighting to defend our Premier League crown. It’s completely unacceptable, and Antonio Conte’s head is on the chopping block as a result.

It’s not just the fans who suffer as a result of our inefficiency in the transfer market, though. The players do as well. Eden Hazard has already strongly insinuated he wants to see Chelsea show some ambition in this summer’s market. We are yet to spend a penny.

According to the London Evening Standard, frustration is growing among the senior Chelsea players over our lack of activity in the transfer market. It’s believed that both Hazard and compatriot Thibaut Courtois could walk out the door if we do not recruit players of their desired quality.

This ought to act as a wake-up call to the Chelsea board. If you do not sign world-class players, our only world-class players are going to seek moves elsewhere.
