Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has been discussing a potential exit from Chelsea, and one of his comments may be interpreted to cast doubt over his long-term future at the club.

Hazard missed the start of the 2017/18 campaign with an ankle injury he sustained back in June. The Blues struggled in the Belgian’s absence, but are thriving now he’s returned to the side and back to his brilliant best.

The prospect of losing Hazard is one that no Chelsea fan wants to entertain. He is one of the best footballers on the planet – but that comes with a catch from a Blues standpoint.

Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard is an integral part of Antonio Conte’s puzzle at Chelsea.

Yes, we get to witness Hazard’s brilliance week-in, week-out, and Antonio Conte’s side benefit from it. However, being as talented as he is tends to land you on the transfer wish-list of virtually every top club in the world.

Hazard has been talking about the possibility of departing West London, and he claims that he will review the situation at the end of the season, as the Independent report:

“The moment to leave will be when I want to leave, I want to finish this year and then we will see what happens.”

Worryingly, from a Chelsea fan’s perspective, Hazard went on to put on record his admiration for La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid, who are managed by the Belgian’s idol Zinedine Zidane. The Independent quote Hazard, who says:

“Everybody knows the admiration that I have for Real Madrid.”

Fear not, Chelsea fans!

It’s natural that Hazard will be linked away from Chelsea. The speculation surrounding his future comes with the world-class tag, as any development on it is headline news.

Perhaps one day he will leave the club in hope of tasting success on the European stage or winning the Ballon D’Or, but we don’t think you’ll see him lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo anytime soon.

Cristiano Ronaldo
Fingers crossed Chelsea’s Eden Hazard will not be lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid anytime soon.

We’ll leave you with this to put your mind at res. As the Independent report, Hazard went on to add:

“But for the moment I am a Blues. Each year people say stuff about Eden, and each year I have always stayed at the club.”

Never leave, Eden!
