Cesc Fabregas could be in line for a new deal, with Chelsea wary of interest from title rivals Manchester United.
That’s according to the Times, who claim that the Premier League champions are keen to tie Fabregas down to a new deal, as he enters the final 18 months of the contract he signed in the summer of 2014.
As per the Times, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has considered making a shock swoop to sign Fabregas. It is mentioned in the report that the man formerly referred to as ‘The Special One’ has had one eye in the Spain international since he took the hot seat at Old Trafford.
Hands off Jose, he’s ours, and if the Times’ report is to be believed, he could be sticking around for some time yet. Fabregas is not as mobile as he once was, but there are few players in the world with such an expansive passing range. He has the Barcelona DNA, and that’s an invaluable asset for any midfield.
