Ross Barkley is confident that Chelsea will not capitulate today in the manner they did at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month.

We’ve all attempted to erase the result from our minds in its entirety ever since the players left the turf at the Etihad, but the result has been dug up again in the build-up to today’s Carabao Cup final, as you may have anticipated. We cannot let it happen again.

Today is a new day, a new game and you can use free bets to find the latest odds. We are heading into the game with cautious optimism. Maurizio Sarri HAS to pull it out of the bag, or he faces the real possibility of losing his job. He’ll also no doubt be desperate for his first EVER trophy as a manager.

Sarri will be praying to the heavens that his players don’t let him down today with further individual errors. One member of his squad, who he has shown plenty of faith in this season, is motivated to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself this evening.

While speaking to the official Chelsea website, Ross Barkley is quoted saying:

“It was disappointing the other week against City but no two games are the same and we’re looking forward to it and I’m sure there’ll be a different result.”

“It starts on the training pitch, it starts in the mind. We’ve all been fully focused in training and we’ll go with a plan and hopefully it pays off.”

Barkley has a fighting chance of starting today, having fired home a gorgeous free-kick against Malmo midweek. He has been underwhelming in recent weeks, but should need little motivating ahead of a game of this magnitude. Go get it, Ross!
