We’ve had a punt at predicting both teams’ starting elevens ahead of today’s Carabao Cup final clash at Wembley. What do you think, Blues?
Maurizio Sarri is fighting for his job today, make no mistake. He needs to convince those above him that he is the right man to take this team forward, and winning the first piece of silverware in his managerial career this evening will be a huge step towards doing that.
He needs to get the starting eleven right, and we dearly hope that he has learnt a lesson from our 3-0 win over Malmo. He needs to make changes if he wants a positive response, and he needs to start Callum Hudson-Odoi if he wants to win this final. Here’s our lineup.
Pep Guardiola ought to be the most relaxed man in the stadium later today. His Man City side are quite clearly levels above Sarri’s Chelsea, as they proved during their 6-0 demolition of us earlier this month. He has such a wealth of quality to choose from.
He has to get his starting eleven right, though, as Chelsea will be out for revenge. We believe that he’s going to go for something like this, with John Stones likely to overcome injury in time to start at the heart of the City defence.
