Jorginho Chelsea
Jorginho’s agent has confirmed that he had agreed personal terms with Manchester City before joining Chelsea.
It looked to be the worst kept secret in the football world that Jorginho was heading to the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola looking to strengthen his options in midfield following the departure of Yaya Toure.
At the eleventh hour, Chelsea swooped in and stole Jorginho from under Guardiola’s nose. Maurizio Sarri becoming Chelsea manager appeared to tip the scales in our favour, with Jorginho putting pen-to-paper on a long-term contract.

Jorginho has started the Premier League season in emphatic fashion, almost setting a new Premier League record for the number of passes from a player in a match against Newcastle United.

Guardiola will no doubt be frustrated to have missed out on the Italy international. His agent has now revealed just how close the deal was to being completed.

He’s quoted by Sky Sports saying:

“It was all done with Jorginho. There was an agreement, but there was no agreement between the clubs. All parties have to agree, and one did not.”

Sorry, City, he’s ours!
