We have some devastating news to bring you.
As The Sun report, Chelsea goalkeeper Matej Delac has admitted that he will soon be leaving the club.
For those unfamiliar with the 25-year-old, he is in fact our longest serving player, having signed for the Blues in 2010. However, despite being on our books for seven years, he has never made a competitive appearance.
Delac has been shipped out on loan nine times to nine different clubs, making a combined 114 appearances during his time away from SW6. It is crazy to think that he’s never played a minute for his parent club.
Unsurprisingly, Delac has admitted that the time will soon come to leave the club in order to take the next step in his career.
He is quoted by The Sun revealing:
“Yes, soon will come a time I’ll have to leave Chelsea.”
Despite never playing for the club in seven years, Delac has insisted that he does not regret signing for the club at an early age, as The Sun report:
“Your career can always be better, but I am 25 and have been through so much, met many coaches, players, gained experience.”
“Many people ask me do I regret coming to Chelsea so young, and not joining some smaller club, but I feel no regret.”
