Eden Hazard is unlikely to be available for selection as Chelsea take on Derby County in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, according to The Sun.
Hazard suffered a back injury during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United the weekend before last. The Blues defeated Burnley 4-0 without their star man, but Maurizio Sarri will no doubt be eager to get him back on the field of play as soon as possible.
The Belgian has been phenomenal so far this term. His wonder-goal against Liverpool at Anfield was probably the highlight of his season so far, and it’s the reason why Chelsea were able to set-up a reunion with Frank Lampard on Wednesday.
Unfortunately for Eden, and us, he will play no part in the game. That’s according to The Sun, who report that the game has come too soon for the 27-year-old, and he will not be risked against the Rams.
It’s probably for the best…
