Gianluca Vialli has urged Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to emulate legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Stamford Bridge, report the Daily Star.

Vialli is more than entitled to share his opinion on the club’s affairs, having played for and managed the Blues between 1996 and 2000.

During that time, he found the back of the net 40 times and lifted six pieces of silverware. His stint as Chelsea boss lasted just two years, but he feels as though his compatriot Conte should stay in West London far beyond that.

The Daily Star quote Vialli, who reveals his belief that Conte should snub reported interest from Inter Milan, and stay at Chelsea for as long as 25 years:

“There was a rumour about him going to Inter Milan, rather than Juventus, but if I was him then I would be staying a bit longer, fall in love with London, Premier League football and Chelsea and stay for 25 years like Alex Ferguson did.”

If Conte was willing to stick around for that length of time, it’s only good news from a Chelsea perspective. From 10th place to Premier League champions, and it’s largely thanks to his influence. Forza Conte!
