‘I think a lot of players are better than me’ – Chelsea star plays down chances of winning this year’s Ballon D’Or

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard admits that winning the Ballon d’Or isn’t his main focus but is happy to be in the 30-man shortlist, the Metro reports.

Hazard has gone on to prove himself as one of the most talented individuals of the game since moving to the Blues, becoming one of the Premier League’s best players.

However, even with the success the Belgian has achieved in the last five years, winning this great individual honour isn’t Hazard’s focus, as the Metro reports.

Hazard is quoted by the Metro saying:

“I don’t know if in the future I can have the chance to win the Ballon d’Or but it is not my objective now. My objective is to play and enjoy myself on the pitch.”

Despite being so great and talented at what he does, sometimes you wish the 26-year-old would have the mentality that he can be the best in the world, even though Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are on a different level to the rest.

Hazard also went on to say in the Metro’s report that Ronaldo deserves to win the Ballon d’Or after his success with Portugal and Real Madrid last season.
